Where Founders Actually Meet in Miami

July 21, 2026

Miami has plenty of rooms; the trick is knowing what each one is for. Some are for surface area, some are for capital, and a few are for the conversations that actually change how you run your company. Here is the honest map.

The Big Communities

Refresh Miami is the backbone of the scene, the largest tech and startup community in South Florida, with a steady events calendar and a newsletter that most of the ecosystem reads. If you are new to town, start here: it is the fastest way to learn who is building what.

Founders Network runs a Miami chapter oriented around peer mentorship, and national platforms like Founder Dinners match founders into curated dinners across many cities, Miami included.

The Big Moments

Miami Tech Week concentrates everything, founders, investors, operators, side events, into one stretch of days each year. It is loud and it is worth it, if you go in with names you want to meet rather than hoping the week produces them. Pitch nights and startup meetups, from Startup Valley's investor evenings to the recurring tech networking circuit, fill the calendar in between.

The Small Rooms

Every founder who has been in Miami longer than a year says a version of the same thing: the big events are where you find people, and the small rooms are where you get to know them. Private dinners, standing breakfasts, four-person masterminds, the rooms that never post photos.

That is the category Outwork operates in: six founders, one table, every third Tuesday, referral only. No pitching, no name tags, no audience. The dinners exist because the small room is where the real work of a network happens, the straight answers, the introductions made one at a time, the conversations nobody performs.

How to Use the Map

The scene rewards people who show up consistently and are useful before they ask for anything. That is true in every city; Miami is just sunnier about it.

The first Outwork table is set for August 25.
